The candle light walk is known as Mattya: in local word. festival of Mattay, celebrated in patan every year on August,this festival celebrate a unique Nepalese festuval, only held in Patan walk through the above 1,300 stupas of the Lalitpur city. it admire the dark and narrow streets, magically lit by candle light.
